︎ ANNUAL REPORT 2025
Every year I tell myself I'll take more time to reflect. This time I actually did. And I turned it into something worth sharing.
Reading similar recaps from other creatives has changed how I think about my own work more than most industry events or workshops ever have. Our industry can feel surprisingly closed off, but there's something very valuable about peers laying out the wins, the mistakes, the stuff that felt good at the time and didn't hold up. And since transparency is a core value of mine, both personally and in my work, sharing this feels like a natural thing to do.
So here's me reflecting on what happened last year. Whether you're a freelancer, work at a production company or agency, or are simply curious about how I think and operate, I hope this gives you something to take away.

What worked well
In 2025 I found myself in the very fortunate position to not have to pitch for jobs that much. Most of my work came from direct clients or was awarded through chemistry calls. And don’t get me wrong, I love a challenging pitch. But sometimes it makes more sense to get the right people together early in the process and figure out the creative together with the client, agency and production team.
What didn’t work well
By getting into bigger projects, I also went into a more traditional commercial route, which I didn’t mind in the moment but looking back, didn’t really help me developing my own voice. Because let’s be honest, in today’s market you have to stand out and you don’t do that by making the films everybody else makes.
What happened besides work
I got into making pizza with my new outdoor pizza oven. Of course this has been a steep learning curve, but after figuring out the basics I quickly became the main attraction of every family function from then on.

Making a short film
Last year, I hit a point where I felt that I had to create something whose value came solely from the vision itself. Something that stood on its own. A work of art.
So I finished a script I had lying around for a while. I pulled in a lot of favours from talented friends and colleagues. And then we made a short film. A weird and silly one, that is difficult to grasp and cannot easily be categorized, for better or for worse. And that's exactly the point.
The film deals with porn addiction, a topic that I believe is incredibly important and relevant, but which unfortunately receives no media coverage whatsoever. Even though its effects are much greater than we generally imagine. That's why I hope that this film, with its humorous and sometimes absurd approach, will draw a little more attention to the issue and those affected by it. This film is entirely me. And it feels great to be able to share it.
If you haven’t seen the film, I invite you to watch it here! ︎
